If you've thought any of this, you're not alone

Most moms never say these out loud. Not to their partner, not to their friends, sometimes not even to themselves. You can say them here.

If you're pregnant

“Is this squat going to hurt my baby?”

“I used to love working out. Now I'm scared to.”

“Everyone has an opinion. Nobody has a plan.”

“I feel huge, tired and kind of lost in my own body.”

“I want to feel strong for birth.”

“Am I eating enough for two, or way too much?”

“What if I lose all my strength by the third trimester?”

If you just had your baby

“I love my baby so much. I just miss me.”

“I don't recognize the girl in the mirror.”

“My baby is 8 months old and I still look pregnant.”

“None of my clothes fit, so I live in hoodies.”

“Where would I even start? I barely have time to shower.”

“When is it actually safe to work out again?”

“Will I ever feel like myself again?”

Hi, I'm Tahys. Here's why I do this.

I know what it feels like to look in the mirror and not like what you see.

I've been through my own struggles with body image and strict dieting. It took me a long time to find balance, and to stop fighting my body and start working with it.

And right now? I'm pregnant too, and I'm still training. I share my pregnancy workouts on Instagram, so you can see exactly what safe looks like.

That's the coach I want to be for you. I'll never put you on a crash diet or push you to "bounce back". You get a plan that fits your real life, and someone in your corner every single week.

The questions everyone asks

Ask Tahys →
Can you work out while pregnant?

Yes, for most healthy pregnancies, once your doctor or midwife says it's OK. ACOG, the group that sets the guidelines for pregnancy care in the US, recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate activity a week while you're pregnant. We adjust every session to your trimester and how you feel that day.

Can I start working out while pregnant if I didn't before?

Yes. You start light, with 10 to 12 reps and 3 rounds, and nothing too heavy. We build up slowly, and only when your body is ready for more.

Is lifting weights safe during pregnancy?

For most women, yes, with the right weight and the right moves. We keep the loads moderate, skip lying flat on your back for long stretches, and swap moves like a flat bench press for an incline one.

What exercises should I avoid while pregnant?

Avoid lying flat on your back for long periods, very heavy lifts, contact sports and anything where you could fall. Every one of those has a safe swap, and we build your plan around them.

When can I start working out after giving birth?

When your doctor or midwife clears you, usually at your postpartum checkup. After a C-section it often takes longer. We start gently and build back week by week, whether you are 6 weeks or 3 years postpartum.

How do I lose weight after having a baby?

With strength training, enough protein and a plan you can keep up with a baby at home. No crash diets and no extremes. Most of our clients came to us for exactly this.

What if I think I have diastasis recti?

Coning or doming down the middle of your belly can be a sign of diastasis recti. Get it checked by your doctor or a pelvic floor physical therapist, then tell us on your free call so your plan works around it.

Where is the Fit By Tahys studio?

At 4211 Gilman Ave W, Seattle, WA 98199, in Magnolia. It's a short drive from Queen Anne, Interbay, Ballard and Fremont. You can also train with us online from anywhere.

Is this a class or one on one?

One on one. You train with your own coach, in the Magnolia studio or online, with a plan made only for you.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. Tahys was born in Peru and coaches in English and Spanish.

How much does a pregnancy personal trainer cost?

It depends on in person or online and how many days a week. We go through the options on your free call, so you know the price before you decide.
